Great news! I was wondeeing about this fellow the past week after your post about the Tsalala pride on the run and then they showed up north in Djuma. How many young males in the Sparta? How long do you think they have until they’re kicked out of home?

Sorry but for some reason the post didn’t open fully and I didn’t read your last portion which answers my questions. Thanks James.

Interesting lion dynamics developing. We were fortunate to see the young Sparta male with the Mhangene pride on the hippo kill. It was an amazing experience.

I have loved every moment of the fabulous photographs we see each week, as well as the other articles. Can’t wait to come back for another visit.

I saw this kill on the morning it was discovered with Andrea and Joy. We had seen a skinny, ill-looking hippo on the evening before in the vicnity, so thought the kill was probably that animal.
Interesting times for the Londolozi prides…and great sightings.

What ever happened to this male lion? Would really love to know! Thanks

Hi Paul,
Sadly we don’t know. He wandered off into the Kruger Park and we have no confirmed sightings of him since after this time.

Thank you James. Such a shame that we can’t keep up with every single lion. Hope he is doing well and has all the females he can want
