Excellent assessment . A few boys from Kruger could be sniffing around .
The Greek , Roman and Egyptian empires fell because they sent their armies wide and far . History has a way of repeating it’s self – Mapogo’s a case in point .

Could you please give the names of each of the Majingiline in the photo above? The one I recognize is the Scar faced one…which is the Dark Maned, the Hip-Scar, and the fourth whose name I’ve never seen. The are so handsome and regal! I tried to purchase the book The Lions of L, but guess it’s not available for PCs. Thanks! Anne

Hi Anne,

Left to right we have the Scar-nosed male, the Dark Maned male, the Hip-scar male (the one at the back) and on the far right is the male with the missing canine. Hope that helps

The one the above missed is Golden Mane. His new name is Pretty Boy but that name is more accustomed to Pretty Boy Mapogo.

Thank you to James and Jeff!

I am taking a painting class and am thinking about using them by combining several photos that have been posted.

Looks like some interesting times ahead in Londolozi. Hope the action continues into September!

A very handsome group for sure. Following these lion coalitions is much more exciting than any of the “Housewives of NY, LA, etc,” TV shows we see in the USA!

I know this is a pipe dream, but wouldn’t it be nice if they could all “live together happily”, make babies & just stop all this fighting as we need our lions to be protected as much as all our other wildlife, as lions have the TB problem in the KNP & your area & unless something is done about that, they could, please God I hope not, die out!!!! 🙁
