Vomba Female Hunts Scrub Hare

We were barely out of camp on the morning of 14 August, when a distinctive white-tipped tail-belonging to an animal crossing the road about 100m ahead of us appeared in the half light. On closer inspection we saw it was the Vomba female leopard, whose territory completely surrounds camp.

Lion Warfare – An Update Part 4

The Mohawk male has not been seen at Londolozi for over a month. In mid-june he moved through the property, limping along the paths and keeping a low profile. He went west and reformed a coalition with the other Mapogos in the Western Sector. The last time the Mapogos were seen together on Londolozi was on July 5. The 5 males killed and ate a buffalo by Ximpalapala Koppies.

Blissful, colorful memories of fairy tales with happy endings and characters who espoused good virtues and deeds. The Other Spotted Cat

Not many people are fortunate enough to witness a cheetah let alone one running at full speed. If you are fortunate enough to find one nestled atop a termite mound or hidden in the sunlit savannah they will most probably be resting and conserving energy for their next hunt. If however, you stumble across this cat effortlessly trotting through the bush with a focused look in its eye…then stick with it as it is probably looking for an opportunity to hunt.

The Epic 2010 Challenge4aCause
