You Strike a Women, You Strike a Rock

The barbed wire fence surrounded a lone, gated building where the women were toiling over their wares. To the left, long rolls of circular tubes were being spun relentlessly whilst on the right, these completed rolls were sawn off into digestible sized units. In the middle of a dingy concrete building in rural South Africa, nobody would suspect that 8 unemployed and formerly abused women are standing up to fend for themselves using toilet paper as their weaponry. Full Moons and Space Stations

I’m guessing that most children dream of being an astronaut at one time or another in their lives. I too dreamt of the magic of weightlessness and spent many hours picturing myself hitting booming golf shots in the sea of tranquility or driving moon buggies recklessly whilst peppering the moon with aluminum foil flags. Python Eats Bushbuck

Two of our guests were strolling along the walkway between Granite and Varty camp when they saw a female bushbuck staring intently at the slated bridge. The bushbuck was distressed and decidedly nervous about something. On closer inspection, the scaled patterns from the python twitched, breaking its camouflage and revealing the massive bulbous mass ingested within. Bennet the Carpenter

Bennet Mantonsi is both an outstanding tracker and carpenter. I recently discovered this latter fact when I chanced upon him working on his latest creation: new signboards for the Londolozi camps. Bennet had setup his work bench outside his house and was reeling through an array of tools, devices and sandpaper to put the finishing touches on the wooden posts.
